Most of the Atlantic County listings we sampled (8 of 15) had already been pushed back at least once, which is why the date on the list is often not the final date. Homeowners can confirm the current date on the official list and review their options below.
Scheduled sales, not completed ones; the adjournment share comes from a small sample. The county's list is the authority for any single sale.

Atlantic County auctions run on Thursdays at noon in the Multi-Purpose Room of the new Criminal Courthouse on Unami Boulevard in Mays Landing. The sheriff takes only certified, bank or treasurer's checks for the 20% deposit, and the winning bidder shows ID and signs the conditions of sale on the spot. Bids move in steps of $1,000 or more.

Atlantic County's foreclosure history is the casino economy's EKG — national headlines once made Atlantic City a foreclosure capital, and the county still carries the legacy: incomes that swing with seasons and casino fortunes, a boom-bust market that left neighbors on the same block in opposite equity positions, and a courthouse in Mays Landing processing it all. The county pages carry the machinery; the free tools were built for exactly this volatility.
Atlantic is one of the few counties that posts the upset price for residential homes on the sheriff's website at least four weeks before the sale, so you can see the opening number before auction day. Its page also confirms the two 30-day adjournments per party (for a fee) and an unqualified 10-day right of redemption after the sale.
Until the auction, and for the short redemption window after it, reinstating, selling the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still change the outcome. Never pay anyone to postpone it for you.
Free statewide options that serve the county: NJ Courts Foreclosure Mediation Program, Legal Services of New Jersey, HUD-Approved Housing Counselors and Navicore Solutions. None of them pays us.

Accepted: Certified check, bank check or treasurer's check payable to the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office; no other forms accepted. Balance: Within 30 days following the sale (non-CWPP); CWPP residential within 90 business days, with interest after 60 business days. From the county's official sheriff pages as read on September 30, 2026; confirm with the sheriff's office before bidding.
