Some of the Cumberland County listings we sampled (5 of 15) had already been pushed back at least once, so the date on the list is not always the final date. Homeowners can confirm the current date on the official list and review their options below.
Scheduled sales, not completed ones; the adjournment share comes from a small sample. The county's list is the authority for any single sale.

When Cumberland County holds sales, they run every other Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sheriff's Office, 220 North Laurel Street in Bridgeton. Its July 2024 information sheet sets the deposit at 20% of the price (3.5% of the posted upset price for CWPP buyers), payable in certified or cashier's checks, with cash over $1,000 only by prior written approval. The sheriff also charges a 6% commission on the final price.

All Cumberland County bidder rules →
Cumberland County carries the state's heaviest foreclosure pressure relative to its size, and its most reachable cures at the same time: Bridgeton holds the courts, Vineland and Millville hold most of the cases, and the agricultural economy's seasonal and 1099 incomes fail reviews for documentation reasons more than income ones. Fewer counselors serve the deep south of the state, which makes the statewide phone numbers — 800-569-4287 and 1-888-576-5529 — carry more of the load here.
Cumberland has posted that residential sheriff sales are adjourned pending compliance with the Community Wealth Preservation Program, so a residential date on the list may not go ahead as scheduled. Use the pause: it is time to get a reinstatement figure, a sale or a lender review moving before sales resume.
Until the auction, and for the short redemption window after it, reinstating, selling the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still change the outcome. Never pay anyone to postpone it for you.
