29 of 31 listings were brought by banks, mortgage servicers or loan trustees; 1 by condominium or homeowners associations.
Most of the Hunterdon County listings we sampled (12 of 15) had already been pushed back at least once, which is why the date on the list is often not the final date. Homeowners can confirm the current date on the official list and review their options below.
Scheduled sales, not completed ones; the adjournment share comes from a small sample. The county's list is the authority for any single sale.

Hunterdon sales are listed on CivilView alongside the rest of the state's. Its sheriff's sale terms were not available to us in a form we could verify, so for anything about bidding, from deposit to closing, the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Office in Flemington is the place to ask.
From the county's official sheriff pages, read September 30, 2026. Terms change; confirm with the sheriff's office.

Hunterdon is the quiet end of the New Jersey foreclosure map: rural, low-volume, with cases flowing through Flemington. Low volume cuts both ways. There is less rescue-scam mail farming the records here — but there is also less local infrastructure, fewer nearby counselors, and homeowners who often feel like the only person in town this is happening to. You are not; the process and the tools are identical statewide.
Hunterdon is a small county with some of the highest home values in New Jersey, so many owners facing a sale here have substantial equity. Before the date arrives, compare what a sale on your own terms would net against what you would likely keep after an auction.
Until the auction, and for the short redemption window after it, reinstating, selling the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still change the outcome. Never pay anyone to postpone it for you.
Housing counseling and homeowner education for the Raritan Valley area.
Statewide, also free: NJ Courts Foreclosure Mediation Program, Legal Services of New Jersey, HUD-Approved Housing Counselors and Navicore Solutions. None of them pays us.
