Sheriff Sale Directory
Where Mercer County posts its sale list, how sale day works here, and what to do if one is your home.
Mercer County publishes its sheriff sale list outside CivilView, so it is not in our monthly count yet. For current sales and dates, use the official Mercer County list.

Mercer County auctions are held every other Wednesday, promptly at 2:00 p.m., at the Civil Courthouse, 175 South Broad Street in Trenton. The plaintiff opens at $100, the next bid starts $100 over the upset price, and later bids rise by $1,000. The 20% deposit can be certified check, treasurer's check or cash, with the balance due on the 30th day.
From the county's official sheriff pages, read September 30, 2026. Terms change; confirm with the sheriff's office.
All Mercer County bidder rules →
Mercer County is the capital county: Trenton holds the courts, the state workforce anchors the suburbs — Hamilton, Ewing, Lawrence — and the county hosts one of New Jersey's most established free-help institutions, Isles, Inc., a HUD-approved counseling operation headquartered in Trenton itself. The typical Mercer default starts with an interruption (a furlough, an illness, a household split) rather than a collapse, which is exactly the shape the loss-mitigation menu handles best.
Mercer publishes its list on the county website rather than CivilView, and it posts Sales Notices on and before sale day, so check there for adjournments, bankruptcy stays and cancellations. The sheriff can grant two adjournments of up to 28 days each for a $28 fee, and its page states that CWPP does not cover buyers purchasing for investment.
Until the auction, and for the short redemption window after it, reinstating, selling the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still change the outcome. Never pay anyone to postpone it for you.
Free statewide options that serve the county: NJ Courts Foreclosure Mediation Program, Legal Services of New Jersey, HUD-Approved Housing Counselors and Navicore Solutions. None of them pays us.
When is the next Mercer County sheriff sale?
Mercer County publishes its own list on the county website; check it for the next sale date. The sheriff's office says sales are held every other Wednesday, promptly at 2:00 p.m., at Mercer County Civil Courthouse, 175 South Broad Street, Trenton. Individual dates move often, so confirm any specific sale on the official list.
What deposit does Mercer County require from bidders?
Deposit: 20% of the total bid price. Accepted: Certified check, treasurer's check, or cash. Balance: Due on the 30th day from the date of sale. From the county's official sheriff pages as read on September 30, 2026; confirm with the sheriff's office before bidding.
