Most of the Monmouth County listings we sampled (11 of 15) had already been pushed back at least once, which is why the date on the list is often not the final date. Homeowners can confirm the current date on the official list and review their options below.

Scheduled sales, not completed ones; the adjournment share comes from a small sample. The county's list is the authority for any single sale.

Foreclosure in Monmouth County: what's different here

Monmouth County runs from commuter towns on the rail lines to the oceanfront — Freehold holds the courthouse, and the caseload spans Middletown colonials, Long Branch's redevelopment blocks, Asbury Park's legacy streets, and Keansburg bungalows. The Affordable Housing Alliance provides the county's HUD-approved counseling, and the shore economy adds its own wrinkle: seasonal incomes that fail underwriting reviews for documentation reasons rather than income reasons.

If it's your home on the Monmouth County list

Monmouth's page reminds bidders that a sale can be adjourned, settled, cancelled or stayed by bankruptcy at any time, which is just as true from the owner's side: until the gavel falls, a reinstatement, a closed sale of the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still stop it.

Until the auction, and for the short redemption window after it, reinstating, selling the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still change the outcome. Never pay anyone to postpone it for you.
