Most of the Morris County listings we sampled (10 of 15) had already been pushed back at least once, which is why the date on the list is often not the final date. Homeowners can confirm the current date on the official list and review their options below.

Scheduled sales, not completed ones; the adjournment share comes from a small sample. The county's list is the authority for any single sale.

Foreclosure in Morris County: what's different here

Morris County foreclosure is a different animal from the urban counties: lower volume, higher home values, and homeowners who very often have substantial equity on the line. The typical Morris case is not a homeowner with nothing to lose — it is a homeowner with six figures of equity at risk of evaporating at an auction, which changes what the smart play usually is.

If it's your home on the Morris County list

Morris's page notes that the owner does not have to allow inspections before the sale and keeps 10 days after it to redeem. With home values here, the equity at stake is often large, which makes a planned sale before the auction worth pricing out early.

Until the auction, and for the short redemption window after it, reinstating, selling the home or a Chapter 13 filing can still change the outcome. Never pay anyone to postpone it for you.
